About VE

Volunteer Elgin promotes, supports, and encourages volunteerism within the communities of Elgin County by providing its members with the opportunity to network, share ideas and resources.

Volunteer Elgin started over 20 years ago by a small group of volunteer based organizations that wanted to network their voluteer experiences & facilitate these resources to help improve & increase volunteerism throughout Elgin county.

In 2006 as a way of saying thank you. VE started a program funded by a portion of each members annual fees & donates these funds to the city of St Thomas parks and recreation department to plant trees in honour of the volunteers throughout Elgin county. The parks department has placed a sign in the woodlot area of Pinafore park to recognize all the volunteers.

VE encourages our members to attend our meetings & share their experiences with other members. Currently we meet in February, April,  June,  August,  October &  December.

If your organization is interested in becoming a member of Volunteer Elgin or have questions. We have provided our Terms of reference, membership application & information on the Woodlot project.
